Dennis Miller caught Sandler's act and recommended him to Lorne Michaels, who put Sandler into the cast of "Saturday Night Live." There, Sandler's wise-ass comedy persona was born; his satiric songs also made a best-selling comedy album, "Stan & Judy's Kid."
Small roles in Coneheads and Airheads evolved into the starring vehicles Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer (1998).
