Best known for his 10-year run as Ross Geller on the hit television series "Friends," David Schwimmer was born November 2, 1966, in Queens, N.Y. He grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he went on to co-found the Lookingglass Theatre Company.
Guest spots on a number of television shows followed, but it was his role on "Friends" that made the puppy-faced actor a star and earned him an Emmy nomination in 1995. He has appeared in several films, including The Pallbearer (1996) with Gwyneth Paltrow; Breast Men (1997), about the rise and fall of the creators of silicone breast implants; Kissing a Fool (1998) with Jason Lee; and the 2005 animated hit Madagascar, providing the voice of a neurotic giraffe.
