Miguel Ferrer Fast Facts: Decided to play the drums at age 8 after seeing Little Ricky do it on I Love Lucy. Prompted to take up drumming professionally after watching Ringo Starr perform on The Ed Sullivan Show with The Beatles. Later on, Ferrer played on Keith Moon's solo album with Starr. Initially reluctant to take up acting because of his famous father, Oscar winner José Ferrer; friend Bill Mumy (Lost in Space) talked him into giving it a shot. Miguel Ferrer was born in Santa Monica, California, one of five children of Puerto Rican Academy Award-winner José Ferrer (1909-1992) and American singer Rosemary Clooney (1928-2002). His siblings are Maria, Gabriel, Monsita, and Rafael (also an actor) and his cousin is actor George Clooney. Ferrer was raised in Hollywood, and as a teenager his interests shifted towards music.
