Nobody plays smarmy better than Rob Schneider, who's parlayed the trait he perfected during his "Saturday Night Live" days into a successful career with TV shows such as "Men Behaving Badly" (1996-98) and big-budget Hollywood films such as Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999).

Born Oct. 31, 1963, in Pacifica, Calif., Schneider began writing comedy sketches while still in high school and appeared in comedy clubs soon thereafter. In 1990, he went to work as a writer on "Saturday Night Live," eventually joining the ensemble; that exposure paved the way for supporting roles in films such as Judge Dredd (1995) and Down Periscope (1996).
